Allis engines

Greetings.
Can anyone tell me the difference between an allis B and Allis C engines.
One is a BE serial number. the other is a CE serial number, Thanks! :?

The engines are the same other then the very early Bs which used a smaller engine.

R Aiken typo'd on the C bore- 3.375".
As Old indicates, when they introduced the bigger bore, they used it in all those engines.

I had thought about asking what was up but figured you had hit the wrong key at the right time because I also knew you knew better LOL

One more difference--BE has smooth block on left side, CE has two bosses with tapped holes to mount the generator.

Thanks guys for the replies. Now for the real question, I have 1939 B (I think) sn B14398 with engine SN BE451320 (by the way it has the generator mounts). Will the C engine parts interchange?? :)

the BE engine is 116 cu in, and the CE engine is 125 cu in. in mid 40 the BE engine had the raised emboss to mount the generator. aside from the difference in cu in., the parts are interchangeable. the replacement sleaves and pistons for the 116 engine would now be the same as for the 125. Bob
