Need to know the length of rod from governor arm to carburetor, Think I have one that has been modified

The correct length is whatever it takes to fit in there with the governor and the carb. throttle plate/shaft wide open-assuming everything else is in order. Ideally when the governor snaps open, the carb. shaft lever does NOT jam into the stop, it just lightly touches it.
