Hi, The battery is dead on our tractor. The last time this happened was a long time ago. My husband seems to remember that to charge this up you have to reverse polarity or something like that. Can anyone pls explain this so we don't incur an expense like we did the first time he hooked the charger up like you would to car? Thanks a lot. We use this tractor to move manure and it is piling up.

+/- ground fools people all the time. ALWAYS hook the charger up the same way and forget about how its grounded. + to + and - to -. That is ALWAYS the way to do it and it does not matter what your hooking it up on

Hook the hot(positive)(RED) terminal of the Charger to the hot(positive)(RED) terminal of the battery. Similarly negative goes to negative. If its a 6 volt battery, be sure to set the charger to 6 volts. It aint rocket science!

diana--sorry for not more congenial help--red cable of charger to LARGE post of battery----or positive---after it starts---remove the cables off the charging vehicle--not the one being charged--gassing of battery could explode---if with carger--shut it off first---be safe--

Thanks for all your help. It seems like there is a general concensus here. Happy New Year!
