I have never found where Allis ever made a B grader like they did with the WC and WD. Does anyone have information about them? Here's one picture from a show I think in Maine that may help. Aslo one from Australia. They differ greatly but it's a start.

I have another picture of one that is mounted to the cultivator frame. It looks homemade. This picture I think is the one from Portland your talking about.

There is a picture of one in Norm Swinford's book. It was a conversion made by the Drott Co. and looks something like the top picture.

I have one book that mentions a grader option for the B, but doesn't have any picture. The book is titled Allis Chalmers Tractors by Andrew Morland & Peter Henshaw, copyright 1997. It is published by MBI (Motor books international). The reference is on pg 33. "...there was the IB industrial version and road-grader conversions, just like the WC...."

So that could very well be a factory product.

That's pretty interesting. Never seen one before, but if it wasn't factory, whoever put them together sure knew what they were doing.

Ed's pic is of a tractor that was at Hutch this summer. This is an aftermarket conversion made by Hi-Way Service, Inc. of Milwaukee, WI. It is owned by Neil Gaarder of Elk River, MN.
