Hi All,
I'm thinking of buying a d-14 or 17 as a work tractor for the woods to pull a trailer type log skidder. I use a MH 30 right now and it works really good but I think I would like to upgrade a little. My question is, Are most parts still fairly easy to get for these models? Anything specific that I should watch for as far as problems or design flaws that happen with these models?
Thanks, Larry

stay with D-17. D-14 and 15 have transmision problems.

If your tractor supplies hydraulic power, be aware that Allis hydraulics are hi pressure . 3500 # are the normal and you may experience blown hoses , etc.

D17 would be the better choice- still a gazillion of them around for parts. Larger diameter rear wheels and more weight give better traction. Both are good tractors, just more D17 sold because it was the bigger one, more hp.

D17 would be an excellent choice. Very powerful for their weight and dimensions.
