Extending torque tube on AC G

My ol fat but is just a wee bit to big for sitting on the AC G comfortably. My legs are are bent up to where I my knee caps are nearly touching the steering wheel.

I was thinking of adding a 6" extension between torque tube and front arched frame. Alternate idea was to build custom foot rests that are lower than than factory and extended to forward to front of tractor.

Your experience or thoughts?

Shep, I"d move the foot rest before I"d extend that part of a G. It"s already the weakest part of the tractor, with some real high stresses. You might find it"s the straw that breaks the G"s back JMHO

Should work fine, as long as you use material as thick as the original. I added 6 inches to my WD reversed loader to get more working room for the hyd pump- used C channel the same size as the original frame to move the steering pedestal forward. Stood up for the last 25+ years.
