D14 Steering problem

Just bought a D-14 that has the motor out and was split. left the motor out, but put the frame back on and steering only goes to the right. won"t come back to center befor hitting stop under fromt pivot where tie rods connect. The tie rods were not taken apart, the problem has to be simple, I"m just missing something.

Sounds like the sector shaft is out of time with the sector gear. Take the front support off the bottom of the steering housing, then remove the bolts holding the bearing retainer in. Once apart look inside the box for the timing marks.
