WD 45

My manual tells me to use 20 wt. oil in the hydraulic pump, but I cannot find any in this area. The best I got is 2 weeks on order. Everyone has 30 wt. I am wondering if it is really necessary to use that oil, or could I use something else. Any help would be appreciated.

I think regular hydraulic oil IS 20 wt. Reg hydraulic fluid-not the hydraTran for a 45.

Any tranny/hyd type fluid works just find as long as it meets Allis spec. You have to remember back when these tractor where made they didn't have much if any true hyd fluid so they used motor oil instead

10W30 motor oil is probably a good choice since it will pump well when cold and compensate a little for wear in the pump when warm.
