wd tranny problems

i have been running a WD on the road lately.the other day when i was in 4th gear, it really started to whine. then the next day when i put in 4th and was hauling a baler it took forever to get movin. now today when i was raking i noticed it was making weird noises in every gear. whats up with this? is it normal? cause i sure havent had this problem before.

I would drain the oil and check for metal particles or pieces, you probably have a broken bearing

i drained the oil. but there was barely any in it. so i filled it up. now it runs alot better but 4th gear still sounds rattly when you take off then whines when you are going. but it takes off faster anyway. any thoughts on the fourth gear thing?

The low gear oil may have damaged the gear surfaces. I'd make sure you have good 90W gear oil in it, have it full per manufacturer specs and use as is for a while. It may improve some or it may stay where it is but probably will not worsen.

the new gear oil makes it sound like a new machgine......well not quite but its workin now
