Where can I find the model and serial number on an Allis Chalmers tractor manufactured in the early 50's?

Most do not have serial number plates. Now if its a WD/WD45/WC the numbers are on the rear end houseing below the brake cover. If its a C/B its just in front of the shifter. All are stamped into the metal so it takes careful cleaning to be able to read them. A picture would help a lot to know better where to tell you to look
