AC Model B Tractor Number

I just picked up the subject AC. The tractor number by the shift lever is B97262 from what I can tell the year looks to be a 49. The person that sold it to me that it was a 30 something. Can anybody tell me if I'm correct.

I just went over to the research and info then serial numbers etc and looked and I also came up with 1949 as the year your tractor is. If I remember right they started making the B in 1938 or 39 but not sure which year and made them up and into the 50s

the B with the Allis motor started in 1938. Last one built about 1958. There were about 125,000 total, and a good year was 10,000 tractors. Yours is a 49. By the late 40s, your probably has hydraulics, maybe a rock shaft and lift cylinders in the back. Earlier units were luckly to have hydraulics.

They started making the model B in 1937 with a waukesha (spelling) engine. In 1938 they started making the model B with an allis chalmers engine which the serial number began on B98 in 1938. I have the serial number B141. I am pretty excited about it.
