I had a cracked block in my Allis G. I took it to the local welding shop and he welded up the crack and then let the welded area cool down to about 200 degrees F and put a layer of JB Weld over the weld and said to let it set for about 2 weeks and then go ahead and use it. According to the welder the JB Weld doesn't hold anything, it seals the weld which he says would otherwise be porous and seep coolant. My repaired block is doing fine. I had no choice but to repair the crack as no other replacement block was availableat the time. Hope this will help.
