FYI if anyone is thinking about purchasing a brush mower for the Allis B, I just bought a DR 17 HP pull behind brush mower. I strongly recommend it for pastures with high grass, small saplings, and brush. If you slow the tractor down for any reason, the mower still has full power. You can run the allis in second at any speed you want. The mower handles it, at least so far. It only cuts 44 inches wide but you can make it up with a little speed if you are on relatively smooth ground. Using the DR pull behind, I do not have to remove the woods belly mower to cut the pasture.

I am very happy with it.

Today's Featured Article - The Mud Daubers and the Old John Deere - by Jon Zehnder. I have a 1941, John Deere Model A tractor I have owned for about a year and a half. This is my first (in case my wife reads this, "FIRST") tractor and it has been a learning experience. After considerable advise and assistance from local tractor nuts and the forums of Yesterday’s Tractors, I had finally got it running pretty well. I have tuned it up, overhauled the carburetor, installed a borrowed, rebuilt magneto, installed a new Power-Trol, patched the radiator, installed new front wheels a ... [Read Article]
