50 cents | No, not the rapper! 50 years back I was age 9 or 10 and I drove the Ford tractor when baling hay. Spent 3 long days at my uncle's down the road. We had a New Holland baler with the 'horse head' pusher and a Wisconsin engine. If a large slug of hay went in, then you'd stop in order to let the machine catch up or you'd kill the engine. The main objective was to pick up all the hay even if the rake had missed some that didn't get into the windrow. I must have done pretty good since my uncle gave me 50 cents the next day when he stopped over. I felt really great since he was tighter than the bark on a tree 3 ways from Xmas (and that's pretty tight!) Claud Reindl, IL, entered 2010-11-24 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
