Riding with Grandpop | I have to say I NEVER thought I would be on a tractor website or care about looking at tractor items. What brings me here is my Dad and my son. My son is 3 and his Grandpop grew up on a farm. Well long gone are the days of living on the farm and thinking tractors are 'cool' but somehow my son has become obsessed with tractors. I don't know if it is the bond with Grandpop or the tractors themselves. You see Grandpop has 2 old AC's that he is still trying to restore and an old riding mower that he has converted to do other various duties as only a true yankee would. Somehow this has become my son's love, the mower, tractors and time with Grandpop. The two of them go outside for hours and you never hear from either of them and it is the ONLY time my son gives his undivided attention and complete patience to anything. My Dad now has a real reason to get these tractors working so they can play! We now have a tractor documentary (from Grandpops collection), numerous tractor books, a tractor sweater (that he is so proud to wear) and outings to fairs just to see tractors. It is kinda a joke around the house that Grandpop is my sons idol but it really is no joke to my son. Everytime I see him with my Dad I get teary eyed and am so happy they have found this bond. I hope my son will continue to hold true to this passion and time with Grandpop. My Dad is happy to FINALLY have found someone who cares about tractors as much as he does and someone to leave his 'stuff' to someday. Now I go back to my search for tractor videos, books and clothes! Jackie White, NH, entered 2000-11-03 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
