Farmalls & Groundhogs | Back In 1996 I was working for a Dairy Farm running A Farmall H cutting and raking hay. One day I was sent to a large 60 acre field to row rake for baleing, as I was going along,I felt the front wheels of the Tricycle front end drop down, I had Run into a huge ground hog hole. Before I could get my foot on the durn clutch that front end got in one hell of a bind and all of a sudden popped out shooting the Tractor front end straight up about 5 foot. I held on for the 8 second horn to go off but it seemed like 100 seconds. Well that front end came down and popped the air out of both tires and bent the hell out of the drawbar and rake arm. I cut the tractor off and went back and unhooked the rake, and tried to get back up on that tractor, but the strength went right out of my arms and legs and I just couldn't get myself back on that thing to save my soul. Well I knew I wouldn't be working anymore till I fixed them two flats, so I started the walk back to the shop to get a air can...9 miles. When I got to the shop, my truck with nice cool air conditioning looked so good. I just crawled in and went home. Finished the field the next day. The boss went down and figured out what happened and never did say a thing. Moral of the story, Farmall Tricycle tractors and Groundhogs don't mix...at all!
