Tractor Colors - A Few Observations

Ever notice how nobody ever messes with tractor colors (well, almost nobody). I mean, Massey Harris' are red with yellow wheels, and when somebody paints one up it's always red and yellow. JD's are always green and yellow, etc. They might be a wrong shade, but basically they are correct. Now, why doesn't anyone start a new trend and start changing some of this, just for fun? Can't you see a nicely restored JD model B in a bright shiny Persian Orange, and an Allis Chalmers B strutting it's stuff in green and yellow? Of course, the tractor buffs would know it's wrong but most everyone else would think it looks nice. A buddy of mine told me he was driving by a place once that had 3 tractors out front for sale. All were basically correct but for one item painted wrong, like maybe a purple generator, or even a silver hood on a Farmall. When my friend went to see the tractors (and asked about the strange colors) the fellow said that he uses it as a great attraction for guys to stop, turn around, and come back for a look (really to let the seller know that the color is wrong). Anyways, apparently he made a lot of sales over the years with people who stopped to correct his color error. And one last thing, did anybody ever make a 'Barney' tractor, that is a tractor that is painted purple? Sort of interesting.
