Farmall Super C Restoration

3rd party site and photo without description

It all started last fall, I just finished my FFA records and got to thinking. I do work on other people's farms why don't I start my own! I have a 1941 farmall A but something with hydrolics and more horsepower was needed. I looked and looked onCraigslist and found a beat up tierd old Farmall Super C. I knew the gentleman that owned the tractor and we agreed on a price that was 'ok' for what I was Getting. When I got it home I looked at it and said what am I doing? I'm only 15 this will take forever!!! The gas was a dark shade of orange and the wiring was down to bare rusty metal. The tractor ran half hot wired with a wire running from the battery to the coil. I took all the sheet metal off and other stuff and had it down just about to the skeleton. Since I have no money I wire wheeled the whole thing! Followed by a thick coat of primer. 3 of my friends came over to help me paint and do body work. Then I hand painted the whole thing and used a rattle can for some small stuff. One of my good friends is going to spray my sheet metal in a paint booth when he does his for his 1939 Farmall H. This spring I hope to turn some dirt with this tractor. I still have some work to do but I am 95% done.

Today's Featured Article - The Engine Rebuild Kit - by Curtis Von Fange. I always liked engine rebuild kits. They have all the replacement parts for overhauling an engine without going to the store to get gaskets, special measuring tools, or miscellaneous parts. They come neatly packaged, clean and tidy. But it's important not to let that packaging lull you into a false sense of security. The appearance of matching sleeves, pistons, rings, and bearings can cause frustration and agony if not properly measured and installed in a workshop environment. Following c ... [Read Article]
