It is a fact. . . . my Dad. . . . | My father bought a brand new sears and robuck custom XL 10 garden tractor in the early 70's. We had a pick up truck camper mounted in the back of a pickup box with the frame welded into a hitch. Poor man's camper I guess you could say. Well dad only had a car with no hitch and had to move. So he put a ball on the rear mount of the craftsman XL10. This camper weighed an easy 2000 pounds without the pick up box trailer. That little tractor pulled that thing 15 miles on two tanks of gas and up a hill so steep it started slipping the belt before it got to the top. He made it home fine, although the belt was toast. . I have this tractor now and will always maintain/cherish it. They don't make them like this anymore. Earl, NY, entered 2003-03-21 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
