Two Bad Luck Fords

My first incident was when I was 5yrs old. I was riding the fender of my dads 8n while he was mowing a field. In the far corner of the field was a small orchard that was growed up with briars. When we started to mowe the orchard some of the briars got caught on my jacket, and pulled me off the tractor before my dad could get in stopped. I landed on the pto shaft between the tractor and the mower. This is not a good place to be a any age. I got busted up really bad my jacket caught on the shaft, it twisted me up but it's the only thing that kept me from going under the mower. The doctors at the hospital didn't think Id live but here I am. I'm 34 now and still love tractors I never will forget that day. I own 5 tractors and have 3 children I've never let them ride with me on the tractor or anyone else for that matter that's why there is only one seat. The second incident happened about 10 year ago with a old selecto speed of my uncles. I was plowing snow with it when I sheared the pin on the plow blade. I took it to the shop to get another pin, before getting off I set the brake and put the gear selecter in park. Went got a pin when I walked to the back to put the pin in the blade the tractor jumped in to gear and started backwards, knocking me to the ground. I just rolled to the middle of the tires till the tractor past over me. I had to chase it about 30 yards to get it stopped. No injuries this time just shook up a bit. Ever since then we shut it off you can't trust it anymore it will jump into gear any old time even into reverse while traveling in a forward gear! Becareful and may God bless us all!!
