  • Teri its nice to see you get dirt under your nails. My daughter Corey likes working with me in the when I am wrenching on a tractor or recently purchased combine.

  • Thanks for the article! Nice to see that good writing isn't limited to the fancy, high-priced slicks

  • I think you should have her on a permanent basis to add alittle life to tractor collecting. The first time I read her last article I laughed until it hurt !! Thanks, Richard.

  • Another "Bravo Zulu" to you for this contribution! It is always a pleasure to commend those who have "earned" their equal spot. Your talents are many, your experiences are priceless, and your contributions to this forum will hopefully continue for a long time. Keep up the great work.

  • That was neet. I actually thought that sombody had secretly wrote an arctical about me & exadgurated a bit. But then I got to the bottom & realised that it was really about somone else(smile). Even our husband's names are the same. It is nice to now that I'm not the only wierd woman around. I took my first motor bike apart when I was 14 & overhauled my first car engine without help when I was 24. I drive a John Deere 4455. The only difference is that I till rice patties & I don't have a sand blaster so when I restore a vehicle I have to do it by hand with sand paper & water. Another small difference is that my favorite to drive is a dirt excavator & I really enjoy welding. Also I never taught crafts, I am an English teacher but I do crochet. My husband has a crane oporating licence so that's the next on my list of learning things. That was a good arctile.

  • Loved the article!!! So glad to read that I am not the only woman with a tractor. Just bought a MF super 90, wish I could find some info on what it should look like.

  • If I could find a single girl with these talents, I might get married again. Two 8Ns and two Cubs. Great story.

  • I really enjoyed your article. I think its great that women of today can enjoy trators the same as men. I pull antique tractors and have helped restore a few myself. I hope to see another article from you on the website real soon.

  • Good article!! enjoyed reading it very much. Only one crticisim - ;-) - It NEEDS a picture of your "show stopping" 8N at the end. Hope you write some more articles, about your farm, other tractors, the club, etc.

  • Hi, Enjoyed your article. I have a 1949 TE20 (English) Massey Ferguson. We found each other in 1989 when I bought my farm and sent a friend in search of a tractor to use for light farming. "Little Red" has performed many tasks around the place, and has helped me run a logging businesss which helped pay the mortgage many times over the years. People are amazed at what the little tractor can pull. We haul big 16" diameter x 16 ft long oak logs off the mountain with "Red" I have to say that it has been an uphill battle to keep the old tractor running at times. The plug wires and the distributor cap drive me nuts because they meet with tiny rings that constantly fall off the wires, and I need to update the system, which I will do one of these days. I am harrassed all the time about riding that tractor. My husband is the worst. If he would only learn to back it uphill I would be happy.

  • Good to see the better halves take an intrest in things like this. My wife is tolerant of my traxctor indulgences, but really loves sewing best. Keep at it.

  • I, too, am glad to see another woman who's playing with tractors. I'm not "crafty", but I sure do like to see, hear, drive, and pull the old iron.

  • Loved the article. My wife and I are traveling to Nebraska from Tennessee this summer to pickup her first tractor, a 1935 JD B. She's kind of fond of the smaller JDs. We'll probably restore it together next summer along with our son's 1939 JD H.

  • My wife's been helping me for 37 years now. She operates the dozer, bales hay, turns wrenches & keeps me in line. That's part of what's kept us together all these years. I think if she decides to leave me, I'll just pack my bags & go with her. It'll do the same for you guys.

Today's Featured Article - It Can't Be Done! - A Tractor Story - by Neil Campbell. I'll never forget the time back when I was a boy baling hay on our Farm in Big Rapid, Michigan. The most memorable event that took place was a trip up the steepest incline on the farm pulling an old New-Idea baler with a pony-motor for power and a haywagon. I had just talked my Dad into buying an old John Deere B with 6-speeds ahead and I was real proud of it, except it was a little smaller than the Case tractor that we normally ... [Read Article]
