I got the same configuration 530. I took the axle wishbone rear support part off, before I learned what this thing called Caseomatic was all about, and surprise!!! I got soaked with oil. It wasn't long after that I figured that spending the bucks for the IT book would be a good investment. Anyhow, the support piece, item #42 on page 108-109 of the parts book, Case part #A 35573, has gaskets on the top and aft side, made of cork. You know what happens to them with age. That is the first place to look for the leak. I put gaskets back in mine as they were in the engine gasket set. I was not a fun deal as you have to compress the gaskets in two directions at once. Next one I do, I will give real thought to using RTV on at least one surface. There may be a need for the gasket on one surface for spacing the support piece, not real sure of that. Also, the starter for the C-o-m had a seal between the drive and armature. Just assume the starter runs in oil and RTV the housing to the ends. My starter did leak after the restoration but I sealed it and it is dry now. I had put the starter together before I had gotten the book and learned that that housing was the oil sump for the c-o-m. Should be a simple fix and then you can go back to havin' fun with the 530!!
