Well Scott, you"ve got some work on your hands. I purchased the one you see in the photo of the S# to place in my 1958 Model D Special. You will need to look very closely at the length of the crank, the front timing gear plate, the gov and the front pulley. They may all need to be swapped and or modified to fit into the same space. The Hydraulic pump needs 2 belts and the other shieve is for the alt/water pump. There is some work but I been told that the increase in horse power is worth the trouble. 45 engine is about 45HP and a D-17 is about 54Hp and heard the Gleaner E (D-17)engine is 63Hp dont know for sure but I hope it works on mine too. After I get my Old Orange working and it proves it self I will probably sell my Yellow Model D (no cab too cold to plow snow anymore)
