Paying for it this year, actually the snow banks have never been deep, sort of a mild winter, but very very long and a whole lot of ice this year.
We are fortunate the trees have not budded yet, these past 2 storms have been very tough on the evergreens, the regular trees would have been shredded if they had their typical new leaves for this time of year.
I'm not one to be excited about getting corn in the ground early, but was hoping to put some oats in. It's wonderful to do that the first week of April here, and hope to do so by the 15th.
Boy, I donno looking at the forecast if April will go at all, and then one starts pushing corn back to get oats in.....
The coop must be pulling hair, once it goes, us farmers with 90,000 acres in this county are all gonna call the same day and want fert applied -now-. My coop has merged up over the years and is in 5-6 counties now, so multiply by 5 or so for them.....
Think it will pay off to have a calm smile this spring. :)
