Mark, I had a similar problem on my John Deere A. I tried the stop
leak solution and the amount of water became less with each running.
I checked the drain plug each time before I'd run it. Haven't seen any
water/antifreeze for over a year now so it looks like it worked. But I
still check it every time. My leak was considerably worse than yours.
You did not say the vintage of your tractor. If it has the auto siphon
cooling system, I think the stop leak works better because of the low
pressure.
