I enjoyed reading all the comments, but I am not sure of the quantity of hay you are talking about. Can we break this down into a standard unit of measurement, such as tons to the acre. I live in Northern Utah and am from Southeastern Idaho. Bale size varies widely, usually from 80lbs to over a ton. The long distances we ship hay, make it necessary to bale heavy and large sometimes. Also, dairy farmers have a rating system for nutrition or food value for hay and what they will pay for hay is rated accordingly to this. I am not a widely traveled person, and all I know about eastern farming methods I have gotten from a book. Sadly, as hard as the authors try they are not always entirely accurate. Thanks
