We've been done in Virginia, well most of us, sine November 8. Eastern part, I'm located between Fredricksburg and Yorktown. Weather was pretty good this year, little dry to start then regular rains up to harvest. Corn was pretty good for the variety and the year ran 168 Bu/ac which was the best I've done in that particular field with test weights between 56 and 60 at 15 to 17% moisture. Beans, slightly different, yields were great at 53 bu/ac but test weight was 53 and moisture started at 13% and ended at 11.5. Corn usually comes off in September here and beans October and November. I usually plant corn either the last weeend in March or the first weekend in April, this year was 4/12 and started combining about 9/13. Beans were planted May 10 or 17 and started combining about 10/18, finished 11/2. That poor little 4400 works it's heart out on those kind of yields. Ran good but I had to learn just how slow would keep it working and me not digging out the jams.

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
