We had our 25th Ohio State Fair Llama Show in the Brown Sheep and Llama Barn (see thesmoothedeere's first pic) during the pre-fair. Jr. Horses and Goats were on the grounds also. We moved in on the 19th, show on the 20th. The pre-fair shows were started when they wacked the days at the end of the fair, our show and the goat show was the last weekend of the old, longer fair. They don't promote it because that would take away from the fair, admission is free, just pay for parking, but not much to see except the shows.

We had one of our geldings jump out of those pens, so we put up pen extensions (had been made by the fair years ago for just such a thing) and he jumped that. It was chest high to me and I'm 6'2" and he cleared it easily from a standing start. He just didn't want to be there. He placed 4th in a class of 15. Makes me wonder how our fences at home keep them in, I guess they want to be there with the herd and not on the other side.

Today's Featured Article - Farmall 460: That's My Girl - by LeAnn R. Ralph. How many sounds can you think of that are as familiar to you as your own breathing? What about the hum of your refrigerator? Or the thump of your clothes dryer? Maybe the engine of your car? You hear those sounds every day, and you don't think much about them, do you. I can think of a few common, ordinary sounds in my daily life, too. ... [Read Article]
