JOB........surprizinly enuff, yer manual is correct. Just measure between the 2-little side terminals of yer round can ignition coil for primary winding resistance. And NO it don't really matter which meter lead connects to which little terminal. Ohm meters have own internal battery to run the meter. Then measure from either little terminal to the CENTER sparkie terminal. Again it don't matter which terminal ...or... which lead you use. And unless you squander yer money on "lab-grade" digital ohm meter, you will probably gitt "zero" ohms between the 2-little terminals. And about 4000-ohms between the center terminal and either of the little terminal.
More better the question, WHY do you think you need to measure yer sparkie coil resistance???
More better you make my "secret" calibrated sparkie tester by BENDING the side electrode of enny sparkie a full 3/16"-gap. Now clamp yer sparkie metal shell to enny convenient bracket so you can see the sparkies jump the gap between enny sparkie wire and my tester and ask yer self this question? Do the sparkies jump the 3/16"-gap with BLUE-SNOTT authority ...or... are they a WEAK yellowish-orangish poor excuse??? .......Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
