Ecoboost isnt junk. It got more low end torque than Toyota, Chevy/GMC, and Ford's own v8's. But, there must be a reason it isn't in 3/4 ton series trucks. My opinion, is it isn't designed to handle long term stress.
Any arguement of a gas versus diesel is a joke. Diesel hp numbers are lower stock than typical gassers. Nothing short of $30,000 will get a gas motor to compete with a diesel in the world of torque. I don't think you can realistically get a gas motor to produce low rpm torque like a diesel. Even Ecoboost F-150's are producing max torque at 2500rpm. Cummins far surpasses that by 1600rpm.
