Other things to think about when shipping or hauling a tractor are HOW WIDE is it , is there any part of said tractor over 8 foot 6 inches wide including how far out the axles stick . Anything over 8 6 is oversized , how tall is it , will it go on a flatbed ?? or will it need to go on a step deck or a RGN . These factors will affect the cost . Will there be a dock at the other end . does it run on it's own power and will it start again once it gets to where it is going ?? Nothing gets a trucker more ticked off then have to mess around getting something dead loaded or unloaded or getting there to load it only to find out that it is oversized and needs a RGN and not a stepdeck and permits up the whazoo . I have in my time hauled more tractors dozers loader and you name it then i care to think about . The ones that really got my dander up were the ones that were not running and ya had to spend hours getting them to run and on the trailer , ya knew it was going to be a bad run the whole trip and when you got to where your going ya had to fight with it to get it off. And therew were times i would drive for three or four hours to get something and i would not load it because they did not tell dispatch the whole truth as it was oversized or totally dead . The other thing is not having a way to unload at the other end .
