i dont think anybody has claimed the hemi doesnt have any power, if so they havent driven one, i think what there claiming is it doesnt have as much low end torque as the diesel, which it doesnt, the hemi makes its power up higher in the rpm band, while its nice to see a hemi back in a production vehicle,im not a blown away fan, as i once owned a car with the legendary 426, and i know what that did, the new ones just dont have the mystique the 426 did, now i admit some of that was the scary factor, having 500 hp,[ any car guy back in the day could easily have a street hemi making 500 hp in a saturday parts swap/tune session] in a car with 1960's chassis knowledge made for a wild ride,as anybody who had one of those can attest, as to why they dont put the engine back out in production cars today, the answer is the epa, the 426 was not a clean air, great mpg engine, it was a go fast engine, a job it did so well that the design dominates motorsports to this day however the government isnt going to sanction anything like the original 426 today for a street production car, of course there still out there via the hot rod builders lol
