LTL freight rates are all about what lane you are using and what discount you get because no one pays full price. The better the customer the bigger the discount. Sometimes as much as 80%.
One example. If we haul something from Memphis to New Orleans you will pay a preimum but the same thing going from New Orleans to Memphis could be hauled for next to nothing. We have plenty of freight going south and pull only full trailers. Going north we pull some emptys every day.
