I only have an 18 inch craftsman electric saw, not a pole saw, which will keep up with any 18 inch gas. I use it on a genny. When on sale they sell for $99. They are made by WORX, but sold under craftsman name. I like it so much I bought a second one. I looked at it this way, a new saw I got a new bar and 2 chains. Price a bar and 2 chains and you aren't too far from $99. I also had a $25 gift certificate from sears. If the saw goes bad, I'm not out very much. BTW, it has never failed to start when I pull the trigger. LOVE IT. Don't have to worry about mixing gas, carb problems, the noise, the smell, no vibrations.
