Same thing happened to me .I looked at it ,it was fine so I took it. She also offered me any of the new ones hanging on the wall but none matched the style. The refurbished one was the same model.Years ago they would rebuild the ratchets while you wait. If you felt cheated you could have asked for your money back . I have done that when they didn't have a replacement item. Some are now Chinese made.Read the labels.
