I assume your engine is running, and you need more power? To get the most power out of your engine do the following. When all the rest of the adjustments have been done,valves, plugs, carburetor, manifold leak test. Start and run the engine to normal operating temperatue, hook up a vacuum gauge in the intake manifold. Before you start the engine loosen the distributor so as you can move it. Keep the hold down tight enough , so it won't turn on its own. Start the engine and set the idle about 1000 R.P.M.'s. While looking the vacuum gauge, turn the distributor until you get the maximum pressure on the gauge. This is where the engine will produce the most power. Don't forget to tighten the distributor when you shut down the engine,set the idle down before you do that also. Good Luck...................Guido.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
