Ah but when I got out of doing wiring what I said was common practice and was the way it was done. The last time I worked as an electrician was in 1992 give or take a year or two and at each break box we always used a earth ground. Seen way to many metal building where a guy walked up to it and garbed it and got the heck knocked out of him from a shock from the building not being grounded as it should have been.
