Well my wife and I have an agreement. She does not ask about my tool/tractor cost and I do not asked about her shoe/clothing cost. LOL It has worked well for the last fifteen years that way.
As for me passing and my tools/tractors getting sold for a unreasonable cheap price. I have a list of all my tools with pictures for the insurance man. I have the current replacement cost of these tools. I have told her that if she would need to eve sell any of them she should get 50-75% of the new cost for most of the tools I have.
It should never get to that point with the life insurance I have. The land and farms will go into a trust that will provide her with an income. My children/grand children get the benefits of this trust too. The boys should be able to continue the farming and feed business. My daughter would get an annual rent/dividend from the businesses.
