Illinois lawmakers a few years back didn"t want any pistols in Chicago, but couldn"t legally do it--found a little "safety" measure dodge targeted at Raven and Davis , other pistol using precision zinc alloy casting methods, plastics and said no metal alloys with melting point about 500 degrees - just over casting temperature of zinc alloy used in Ravens and Davis .22,.25, .32 pistols, It wasn"t a "Gun Control" it was a "safety" feature to prevent a "Unsafe" -gun parts melt when fired-gun from being sold in the state. This also hit a couple Rohm Gevarfabrik revovlers with the light alloy frames, still left aluminum framed S&W chiefs specials used by a lot of police officers as their "offduty/backup/bodygaurd the politician" arm. Minor hassle for gunbuyers with moderate income, hassle some for the makers that would use a zinc alloy casting in some non stressed parts like grip frames or some plastics. RN.
