I wish I could help. I can only offer a few points. Try putting this on "Today's Tractors", and/or on the Case/IH forum on this site. On my 5230 4x4 partial power shift, the MFWD is mechanically engaged with a spring. It requires hydraulic and electric power to disengage it. I have only owned this for a year. It has 7000 hrs. I recently replaced some of the solenoids which control MFWD, diff. lock, three point, etc. because the wires were giving out just outside of the coils.
