Kind of like those "universal" tools for all sizes of nuts, metric or SAE, doesn't matter, it will ruin anything you throw at it. Its for those folks who want only one tool in their tool box, but it seems it would make more sense to have one that would actually work.
I will say, though, I did get one of those "universal sockets" that is full of little spring loaded pins, that you push onto the nut/bolt/whatever, and the pins that aren't pushed up by the nut stay in place and grip it, no matter how nice a rounding job you did with the Chinese crescent wrench. Would never have bought one, but I tried one that my neighbor had and it actually works!
