I don't know if the A/C unit in the LQ on my horse trailer is 13000 or 15000 and I'm certainly no generator expert. This is what I know -

I purchased a Champion 3500, 4000 surge watts, for $300 from Tractor Supply. Then purchased the wheel kit online for another $45.00. The Champion comes set up to power an RV.

I did look at some RV sites on the internet when I was looking for a generator and the Champion was highly rated.

The generator handles the A/C unit, lights, etc. with no problem. I was told not to run the A/C and microwave at the same time. Don't know if that's correct, but its not an issue. I should probably ask Champion to make sure.

Noise level is 69. Not as quiet at the Honda, but a lot less expensive. Noise is not bad. When inside the trailer with the A/C on, you can't hear it at all. Even when close to the generator, you can talk at normal levels.

I used it the first week of July to power the trailer. It ran for 6 hours and, according to the gauge, only used a half tank of gas.

As far as noise level, Hondas are extremely quiet. Be sure to compare the noise ratings, fuel tank size and consumption rate between the units your are interested in. Getting up at 3:00 in the morning to refill the tank on the generator is not fun. Some units have an idle speed, then rev up to meet demand. This helps with fuel consumption.

None of my horse friends who have Hondas have ever had a bad word to say about them. I would have bought a Honda, but they're way too expensive.

I've looked at Hondas online and you can hook them in tandem. Honda sells all the necessary cables, etc., to do that correctly.

I bought the Champion based on reviews I found on RV sites by actual owners, noise level, cost compared to how much I would use it and fuel consumption.
