First, flashback arrestors are not the same as reverse flow check valves. That's why they have a different name. LoL F/A's are better(they will stop a fire going back and are also reverse flow check valves). As far as where they go, they will only go in one place because of the type of threads they have. Torch would have B fittings and regulator should be NPT (1/4" I think). Additionally it should tell you in the manual that comes with the torch set. You can get F/A's for the regulator, the torch and hose to hose depending on what you want or need.
