I know that Berylium copper has some crazy charecteristics about it when you drill it. If you don"t use coolant, a sharp drill will drill about twice it"s diameter into it and lock up like someone clamped a pair of vice grips on it. Apparently it contracts instead of expanding when it gets hot. We used it in a plastic injection molding shop I worked at when I was a young man. Fred OH
