Joe, I sure learned something about copper tubing/pipe. I had no clue that it could withstand such pressure/force. I had always thought was too soft for that kind of pressure. And you are absolutely correct, sweating a joint correctly is not hard to do. But the secret is that it is done correctly. Without knowing whether or not they were, can not guess at, or advise as to how much pressure they will withstand. Someone could've used dirty pipe (inside the fittings), then threw a bead around the outside edge, and a cold one at that. Then again, may've scuffed and cleaned everything up and be the best job in the world. Who knows? Time will tell though. Happy Easter, Mark.

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
