Help! Old broken multimeter!

My grandfather gave me his old analog multimeter a couple years ago. He built it from a kit for school back in the '50s. Of course, a couple of weeks later, I dropped a peanut butter jar on the gauge's glass face plate. Oddly, the glass was not broken, but it was "driven" in. This bent the needle.
I would really like to get this fixed, not only because I like old things and the meter worked very well. But also because he is going to help me rewire my Jeep and I will have to tell him why I'm using the other grandfathers digital meter!
I have done web searches and haven't found a thing! (I'm usually good at getting results while "surfing".)
I need to find someway or someone to fix this!!
On the gauge face the meter reads "RCA meter assembly kit, 20,000 Ohms/volts DC and 6,667 Ohms/volts AC, manufactured by RCA institutes, INC. New York, N.Y. U.S.A." On the backside of the gauge/inside the meter case are the numbers "050163" and "Ideal Precision Meter Cc., Inc. Made in U.S.A."
ANY help of ANY kind will be most appreciated! Feel free to ask questions.
Thanks.
