I put 10 footers every 10 feet. It works real good--lets out the ehaust smoke and summer heat. The building is open the whole length of one side and I'll tell you I was worried when ISABELL came through but the building didn't move. I think two things contributed 1) the open side faces the trees (about 150 feet away) and 2) the vents relieved the pressure inside. Oh the building is 138 X 40 X 15 high; with 30 feet closed up for a shop. I don't think the translucent vents will provide much light. Remember when you really need the light--night. During the day if you have doors open them. I find that even with the open side I need the lights on and a drop light sometimes. I.E. save your money just get the standard vents.
