No other forum is like the Classic View so that's not surprising. It's based on software from the 90s. What you have happen would not happen on the Modern View either.
There is a screen that comes out when you finish the post (after pressing the post button). It says something like Message Added... with a link at the bottom to return to the forum. Waiting until the message is displayed or clicking the link in that message, won't duplicate the post. Hitting a back arrow/button of the browser will because that returns to the screen that was posting the message and posts it again. Attempting to do that multiple times will generate a copy of the post for each press back if there is a slight delay. Are you pressing the back button of your browser at that point? If so, it will most often repost the same post.
