Yes there are tricks and also using the correct tool for the job worked far better then trying things not made for the job. The trick is soapy water and lot of it and let it soak in for a bit The tools a TRUE tire hammer or true tire slide bar hammer. A splitting wedge is not made for that job and can in fact get you hurt by flying out and getting you. To me tires are child's play but then I did do it for a living at one time and I have All the correct tools
