John, Thank you for your reply. I printed out, what you sent me, and I will see what I can do in the morning. If I turn on the lights, the ammeter shows a slight discharge. If I engage the starter, it doesn't show anything. I installed a brand new 12 volt battery, about a month ago. All new wiring was installed on the generator, by the people, that rebuilt the generator. I have a three post voltage regulator on the front and one post on the back. The VR is new. Both post on the ammeter are reading electric hot. The field wire from the VR goes to the light switch. When it was on the test bench, it showed 13.3 volts and 5 amps. Would it still need to be Polarize? I do have a Mag with positive ground. John, thanks again and Blessings. Dwight in NM.
